Guide to choose a perfect impulse sealer

Impulse sealer or manual sealer uses heat to seal plastic. The machine is compact in size and suitable for home use or small business sealing less than 50 packets per day.

There are different types of impulse sealers depending on sealing length, sealing thickness, machine body material, motor material, etc. Here are 4 main factors to consider when purchasing an impulse sealer.

1.Sealing length

The first factor to consider is how long is the plastic bag. Commonly, there are 3 types of sealing lengths 20cm, 30cm, and 40cm length. Longer sealing length like 40cm allows you to seal a bigger bag size or multiple small bags at one time.

2.Sealing width/ sealing thickness

Many impulse sealers offer thin sealing lines of 2mm or 3mm. The thinner sealing line has a higher chance of breaking during transport or storage. It’s recommended to get an impulse sealer with a 5mm sealing width to prevent leaking.

3.Machine body material

There are 2 common types of impulse sealers using plastic body or metal body. Plastic body machine is more economical pricing but easier to break while metal body machine is higher priced but more long-lasting

4.Motor

Motor power is an important factor when considering impulse sealer. Some production requires continuous sealing for up to an hour or more. If the motor is made of poor quality, the machine will be hot and stop sealing.

With years of experience in the packaging industry, Automicom has continuously worked to improve our product quality. From June 2022, we have upgraded all impulse sealers to high-quality copper motors, 5mm thickness, and metal bodies. Our machines are more durable, long-lasting and able to work for a longer duration.
